Josef Hofmann (1876-1957) was a soloist in this performance class, piano rolls recorded in 1913 and played with the help of a tail in 1962-63 Vorsetzer Welte concert Steinway No 261, Rondo Capriccioso by Mendelssohn in E major, Op. 14 (According to the notes that are included in this collection of CDs that Steinway Artur Rubinstein was reserved for his performances and recordings on the West Coast.) A Welte Vorsetzer rebuilt and refurbished by a geologist from Texas named Kenneth Caswell was used for this particular recording.
